How do I create a virtual live concert on Virtuosica?

Virtuosica virtual concert features are currently only available for private events. Check back in a few weeks to see whether we've launched public events and ticketing features.

Both Audience and Artist users may create virtual live concert events on Virtuosica.

Currently, only private, non-commercial virtual concerts are enabled on Virtuosica. In short, this means that you may not, at this time, use Virtuosica to live stream a public or commercial event, including events that sell tickets, beverages, merch or are revenue-generating or in a public venue, unless you have already obtained performance rights and any other relevant licensing for such an event or are exempt from such licensing

To better understand whether your event qualifies as a private or public, commercial or non-commercial event, and whether you might need to obtain a performance rights or other type of license, please read this article.

There are two ways of creating a virtual live concert event on Virtuosica.

The first method is to create an event that is publicly visible to Virtuosica Artists on the Gig Board or that you invite several specific Virtuosica Artists to send you proposals for.

To create an private virtual concert event on Virtuosica using this method, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Virtuosica account.
  2. Navigate to the Events tab in the left-hand bar.
  3. On the top right of the Events page, locate and click the Create New Event button. If this is your first event, you will also see a Create New Event button in the middle of the page. Either will work.
  4. Fill out all of the required details for your event, such as date, time, budget, genre, setting, and so on. The more information you provide, the better the response and quality of proposals from Artists will be. If you need help or advice with this at any time, contact Virtuosica Customer Support.
  5. On the last tab of the creating a new event process, use the orange toggle button at the bottom to select Public if you would like your event to be visible to all Virtuosica Artists on the Gig Board or Private if you would like to invite one or more specific Virtuosica Artists to send you proposals for your event.
  6. Complete the form and submit.
  7. Check your in-platform notifications or email for proposals from Artists. View the proposals and, if needed, select the Negotiate button on the top right of your screen to enter a private chat and negotiate terms such as budget, set lists, and other specifics with each individual Artist that has sent a proposal.
  8. Once you have reached an agreement with an Artist or if you would like to accept the Artist's proposal without negotiating, navigate to the specific proposal you would like to accept and click the Accept button at the bottom of the proposal. The Artist will be notified and will also need to click that they Accept the final terms.
  9. As the Event host, you will be notified that you need to return to the proposal one more time, to confirm that you accept and understand the agreement between you and the Artist, as well as Virtuosica Terms of Service for the event.
  10. To complete the hiring and contract, you will be required to complete the final step of reserving the funds for the event, as agreed in your Event Terms with the Artist. When you have entered and confirmed payment, the Artist will be booked and hired for your event.
  11. Finally, select either whether you are done hiring for your event or you need to hire more Artists for your event. The first option will remove your event from the Gig Board and the latter will keep your event visible on the Gig Board and allow you to collect and / or accept more Artist proposals.

Please note that payment is not immediate and is processed and held by Stripe until the event has been successfully completed. As the Event host, you have a window of 5 days to file a complaint regarding delivery of a performance for a booked event.

The second method is to find the profile of the Virtuosica Artist you already know you want to hire.

To hire a single Virtuosica Artist that you have pre-selected for your event, follow these steps:

  1. On the Home page, navigate to the profile of the pre-selected Virtuosica Artist.
  2. Expand the pre-selected Artist's profile and click the Hire Now button.
  3. From the dropdown menu, select an existing event or Create a New Event to hire the pre-selected Artist for.
  4. If you have selected to Create a New Event, complete the form as described above. Your event will not appear on the Virtuosica Gig Board but will instead only be visible to the pre-selected Artist.
  5. Wait for the Artist to send a proposal for your event and complete the hiring process as described above.
